I love the sea and Puglia, and here, as a wedding photographer, I'm spoiled for choice. We have 800 km of coastline and countless wedding venues; every corner of this land seems to have a beauty that tells unique stories.
However, some places, while apparently charming, follow a somewhat standardized Apulian aesthetic: straw umbrellas, palm trees, and fishing boats used to present the dishes.
There's a different vibe at the Wonder Beach Club. As soon as I stepped inside, I immediately felt a warm, welcoming, and authentic atmosphere. I met people whose smiles made me feel right at home.
Rosa, Marco, Pietro, and Ilaria are the true soul of this place, ready to offer a welcome beyond words. Depending on the season, they offer you the fruits of the land and sea that local fishermen and farmers lovingly harvest: sweet cherries, extra virgin olive oil with bread and freshly picked tomatoes, fried olives, peppers, broad beans and wild chicory, octopus, and local triplette.
Everything is genuine and fresh.
The first time I arrived at Wonder, I was immediately struck by its beauty. Entering the courtyard, I immediately noticed the simple beauty of the stone seating, the whitewash alternating with the vibrant colors of the prickly pears, bougainvillea, and local ceramics.
As I approached the sea, I was amazed by the Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds the entire area: reed beds, centuries-old olive trees, downy oaks, and maritime pines, low and bent by the wind. The branches and trunks carried by the sea, the fishermen's nets and ropes, and the white sheets reminiscent of sails, decorate and guide guests towards the sea, offering us photographers creative inspiration for unexpected and extraordinary shots.
On the cliff, facing the sea, the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze transport you to a dimension of absolute relaxation, while the surrounding landscape creates an atmosphere of fullness and serenity.
From a photographic perspective, I've always noticed that guests and newlyweds are perfectly at ease in such a welcoming and natural setting. This allows for candid, authentic, and poetic photos and videos that tell their love story in the most genuine way possible.
The most magical hours for us photographers and for the newlyweds are those of sunset and sunrise, when the light takes on unique nuances that give our shots originality and magic.
Every ceremony, whether civil or religious, held just steps from the sea is an unforgettable experience. The ceremony, celebrated on the grass with the cliff as a natural backdrop, becomes a moment of great emotion and beauty.
Even during dinner, the atmosphere at Wonder reflects Puglia's typical conviviality. Only at Wonder have I found the local ceramic plates my grandparents used for shared lunches in the fields during the harvest.
The party and cake cutting were also truly evocative.
With dusk creeping in, the calm waves and the soft glow of fishermen's lamps providing the backdrop, it's a pleasure to photograph the guests, barefoot on the beach, enjoying themselves with a glass of wine in hand to toast.
